Possible New Fire Emblem Game?

While I'm still playing that series, too? I don't think that has happened yet! Apparently, some Japanese magazine claims that their issue next month will be one for Fire Emblem fans to look forward to.
By the way, Fire Emblem just came in the mail, so I'm playing that. (It's also known as Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword.) I think the main reason that this announcement will be while I'm still playing the series is because it's so soon after Shadow Dragon's release.

That's right. Twenty years ago, on April 21, 1989, the Game Boy was first released in Japan and the world was introduced to, um, the world of portable gaming!
These portable little guys led to all sorts of games we love, like Link's Awkening, Metroid II, and Pokémon! Go pick up one of those games and play through it, before the Game Boy turns twenty years and a day old! :P

(Quick info for the uninformed: Shigesato Itoi is the creator of the MOTHER/EarthBound series.)
This is cool, since I've been playing Animal Crossing: City Folk a lot recently and I have associated somewhat in the past as sort of the "3d EarthBound game," although it's obviously a different game.
Itoi's town is called Nikonikori Village and his house (in-game house, that is) is based on Porky in MOTHER 3 very much. It's really kind of creepy.

Spirit Tracks Trailer Soundscape
Zelda Reorchestrated posted these two remixes of the song used in the Spirit Tracks trailer. They're pretty cool, so check them out. The second one takes a few seconds to really get going, though.
For some reason, these songs remind me of Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Someone who knows more about music could probably figure out why. *coughtherestofmyfamilycough* I was looking through the Radiant Dawn music recently, so it's relatively fresh in my mind.
I ordered Fire Emblem online yesterday (the seventh one, remember), so I'll be starting that game sometime soon.

Rotom Secret Key Event!

I have caught wind of a new Pokemon event concerning the Secret Key, which allows you to obtain a Rotom that can change into one of five different forms. It will be taking place at Toys 'R' Us from April 20th to May 12th, but can also be downloaded in Platinum.
I'm not actually sure if the key allows you to obtain the Rotom in the first place or simply changes it. I'm trying to avoid as many spoilers for Platinum as I can right now, as I have yet to play it. (I have to play through Fire Emblem first. XP) I am not sure the download will work for Diamond and Pearl, so those who have no Platinum will have to head over to Toys 'R' Us to get it.

Marriland recently posted this great video on his YouTube channel:
This goes through all 210 Pokémon in the Platinum Sinnoh Dex and shows you where to find them. For the first bit, before he starts talking, he shows you all the Pokémon you absolutely should see during your playthrough. He then explains where they all are. If you're having trouble completing the Sinnoh Dex and accessing the rest of this game, this video is a huge help. It's pretty cool to watch even if you aren't looking for help.

... Which is ironic, because I had decided earlier today that the Endgame chapter was impossible to complete, then beat it in a completely legit, non-cheap way. Most of the guys I was using died, though. XP I got really lucky against Medeus, too.
Next is Fire Emblem - as in the first U.S. release, the seventh one, translated as Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword.
I'm not playing all the Japan Only games because that would take way too long, and I doubt I could beat the sixth one. XP

I recently caught wind of this interview with Reggie Fils-Aime. (I'm seriously stuck on the pronunciation of his last name.) EarthBound fans know him mainly for his bad history with MOTHER 3, refusing to release it in the U.S. and all that. When asked about MOTHER 3, he gave almost the usual vague answer.
The thing that surprised me most (and I thought the mention of this earlier in the week was an April Fool's joke) was that REGGIE ACTUALLY LIKES MOTHER 3!!! Unfortunately, despite liking the game and feeling the burn from the fans begging for its release, Nintendo of America is still not working on it.
Many people, including myself, already played Tomato's MOTHER 3 Fan Translation. According to Tomato himself, he's completely willing to let Nintendo of America use his translation absolutely free of charge, credit, whatever. Next to that, they know how to contact him. Saying that I expect them to officially release Tomato's translation would be wishful thinking, though, especially considering the series's history.

MegaBlaster recently posted this new intro to his series, Silver Crisis:
I would be very happy if I was as good at this as him. :P It seems that he recently started filming with hacks, though, and I don't have any. I don't find myself very willing to use hacks for anything. I'm not about to delete all my Twilight Princess save in order to download the Homebrew Channel, either.
I tend to like MegaBlaster's choice of music, mostly because I've never heard most of the music he uses. >_< I'm somewhat limited on my music choices because all the game music I have that I can use has already been heard by most Smash Bros. fans and any of the CD-type music might get my videos taken off of YouTube, like some of the Guitar Hero videos my brother watches. :(

My Nintendo Material From Another State

I spent most of yesterday evening and today driving to my grandparents' house in Utah, since I have spring break this coming week AND my mom ran a half marathon this morning (in Utah). ^_^ Regardless of being in Utah, I wanted to take care of a few things in the world of Nintendo. First, obtaining Regigigas, and second, starting a new series. I decided to save these until we were in Utah because I thought it would be pretty cool to have my copy of this game and my Regigigas from another state. (I'm just weird like that.)
The Regigigas I'm referencing is the special Regigigas for which they have had the event for the past two weeks. It comes already at level 100 and can be used in Pokemon: Platinum Version in order to obtain Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. I already have all of them, but, whatever. :P
I found out at the store (only because Ohhshnap37, my brother, mentioned it) that Platinum is coming out tomorrow. I probably won't play it until I'm though with Fire Emblem, though. At the same outing in which Shnap and I obtained our Regigigas-es?-, I also bought Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.
It has been pretty fun so far. I've only played one other Fire Emblem game in the past. I played it with normal controls, even though it was on the Wii. (I'm pretty sure you have to, though I don't remember too well.) Shadow Dragon lets you use the stylus, so I decided to do that. You have to be a little careful with how many times you tap something and whether you're tapping or dragging it. I only managed to get a character to do something I didn't want him to do once and it didn't make very much difference at all. I have also noticed the graphics (though they might be slightly overshadowed by the stylus). Radiant Dawn was in 3d, while Shadow Dragon is in 2d just like the screenshots I've seen for all the Fire Emblem games I haven't played.

In respect to the release of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon in the U.S. (the us ;D), Fire Emblem will be the next series I tackle in my very long exploit to complete the twelve series that contribute to the world of Super Smash Bros. Here are the five games:
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
Fire Emblem (GBA)
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (This is the one that I have already beaten, as indicated in the sidebar. I might replay it, as I did with Metroid Prime 3 in that series.)

MOTHER 3 save files... HOLY CRAP!!

This has just been a complete roller-coaster of emotions. Last night, I was trying to get EarthBound Zero onto my flash cart with MOTHER 3 (no problem) WITH the save file (can't do it). I really want to have my save file for that game on there, but I can still go perfectly fine without. What I absolutely CAN'T go without is my MOTHER 3 save file, now in Chapter 7, the penultimate chapter. That's where the real problem came in. I don't know what happened. I know where I might have done the wrong thing. Whatever happened, my MOTHER 3 save file was gone.
It felt almost as if someone had died. I was despairing all night and later had trouble getting to sleep. I posted a topic on Starmen.net forums that night (last night) asking where I could find a .sav file to upload to my flash cart. My main comment that night was, "I'm so stupid!" Eventually, I did get to sleep.
This morning, as I got out of bed and ate breakfast, I didn't feel as bad. It would only take a week to a week and a half to catch up. Next to that, I somehow knew that somebody on the forums knew how to help me. After I finished eating, I hurried downstairs.
Lo and behold, Tomato, the person who made the MOTHER 3 Fan Translation, told me exactly what to do. It was the Froggie Save Library on their MOTHER 3 forum. It has save files even between the smalles incriments in the game, so you could get a save file from there no matter what part of the game you want! If anyone wants the link, here it is:
http://forum.starmen.net/forum/Games/Mother3/Mother-3-Froggie-Battery-Saves-Library/first#post1274043
I feel so happy now. I have my save file back EXACTLY where I last saved! The characters don't have all the exact same levels and items as before, but it's as close as I'm ever going to get and it's pretty dang good. The levels and items might even be better. I know that Duster has an item from a sidequest in Chapter 5 that I never did, but that's perfectly okay. It only helps. ;)

The Next Episode

On my YouTube channel, as well as the channels of many machinimators, there is a section of the sidebar that I update about my progress in the next episode of my machinima. For Brawl machinimas, this typically consists of scripting, voicing, filming, and editing. Mine usually has voicing after filming and "acting" right before filming. This is actually part of the filming process, but it's before I actually start recording any video. It's pretty much just saving the replays in the game. I decided to split it like this a while ago because it's such a big portion.
I wrote the script for Asui Gaiden: Episode Three this morning. After finishing it, I went on my channel and, while putting the X in the box for the script, I ALSO added a section called acting - with not quotes. This is because of what happens in the episode, which I can't have filmed in Brawl. I could actually call it filming, I suppose. There aren't any quotation marks to differentiate, though.
I'm making progress in MOTHER 3. I'm at the part where the main character is a monkey called Salsa. :)

It's finished.
Some of the music ended up being way different than the script, since Movie Maker wouldn't accept some of the music files. Specifically, these are the Pokémon Battle Revolution songs. I think those ended up working pretty well. There's certainly something about that music when you haven't been hearing it all the time.
On a side note, I've been having some problems with my flash carts. The DS card forgot my save file, even though it was (it seemed) still on the flash card. I've been trying to get MOTHER 3 and EarthBound Zero on my GBA flash cart. (I DID use the patch to make it so MOTHER 3 can save.) I got them on a while ago. I've been trying to get save files on there, but to no avail. I think I might have gotten the MOTHER 3 save file on, but it was apparently erased by the DS flash cart. I suppose restarting the game today won't be as bad/repetative as it would have been on Thursday, when I experienced this problem.

Flash Carts Galore!

Yesterday, I FINALLY received my flash cart in the mail. Ironically, when we ordered it, they said that it would ship in three to four days - then, four days later, it got here! Even MORE ironically, the very next day, the GBA flash cart I ordered SIX WEEKS ago came today! It seems that the cancellation of the order never got through and they ended up sending it. It's interesting to me that it shipped from China, since I'm taking a Chinese class in school this year. 你们好吗?
MOTHER 3 is a pretty amazing game. I'm not terribly far yet, but I'm having a lot of fun with it - especially the story. Amazing.

My EarthBound Dilema

EarthBound is such a great game... It's really too bad that they don't make a lot of releases, with EarthBound 64 being canceled, MOTHER 3 never being released in America, EarthBound being confirmed to NOT be released on Virtual Console... you know, that kind of stuff. I've been playing through the series lately and have been having a lot of trouble obtaining the games. The funny thing is, my problems are completely independant of the game not being released. (Well, almost. ;D)
(NOTE: EarthBound Zero = MOTHER 1. EarthBound = MOTHER 2. EarthBound 2 = MOTHER 3. Just avoiding confusion.)
For Christmas last year, I asked my parents for EarthBound and a Super Nintendo. They were at the top of my list, under a flash cart for the MOTHER 3 Fan Translation (which I, unfortuantely, didn't get). I got a console that plays both NES AND Super NES, but no EarthBound. I got three other games (The Legend of Zelda, The Adventure of Link, and Kirby's Dream Land 3) only to find out the console didn't work. Sad Christmas, huh?
A few days later, my mom asked if I'd tried EarthBound on the Super NES. I acted as confused as I was, since I hadn't recieved EarthBound. It turned out that I actually was supposed to get it, but it had been misplaced. I tried it on the console and, lo and behold, it worked!! It was the other games that hadn't been working!
I played through that game and had a lot of fun with it. It's definitely one of the best games I've played. I tried to order a flash cart for MOTHER 3 A.S.A.P., but I had to save my money. After I finished EarthBound, I played EarthBound Zero, which was noticeably shorter. I ordered the flash cart toward the end of the game and just waited for a week.
I waited for another week.
Now a third week. This was getting pretty ridiculous. The flash cart I had ordered apparently hadn't been shipped yet, because it was out of stock.
I started to play Kirby's Dream Land 3 as the fourth week came. (It had recently been released for Virtual Console, yay.) One of the same flash cart happened to pop up on Amazon.com, so I decided to cancel the order and buy the one on Amazon.
During the fifth week, I miraculously managed to make progress in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link! (I have it on the GameCube Collector's Edition.) We never got the email saying that the order had been cancled, so I had no money for the cart on Amazon. At the end of the week, I decided to make a deal with my parents that I would be The Cheat for a day (referencing http://www.homestarrunner.com/) in exchange for earning the order of the flash card from them.
Then, it happened. On February 20th, I went on Amazon.com and found that the flash cart was out of stock. Somebody else had bought it.
I moped around the house (and the internet) for a while and tried to find another flash cart to buy from somewhere. I found one of the same that I was about to buy, but learned that it was out of stock. After a bit of reconciling with myself, I settled for the M3 DS Real Flash Card with the Game Boy Advance expansion. That might prove a little problematic since that's made for DS Lite and I have the original blue DS. Luckily, both my brothers broke their fat DS's and now both have their own DS Lite. I could borrow one of those if need be.
Since this flash cart was so expensive, we re- set up the compromize of being The Cheat for a day. It started at about 8 p.m. that day and continued to the same time the next day, the 21st. So, I was working all day that day in order to earn my flash card, that I would soon be into the sixth week waiting, although now more completely sure that this one would arrive.
The next day, Sunday the 22nd, during church, I realized that the previous day had been my half-birthday. I had been working all day on my half-birthday! (My actual birthday is August 21st.) It's not such a big deal, I suppose, since the basement and my bedroom closet, which were both deathly dirty, are now clean AND the flash cart will probably be here at the end of this week or the beginning of next week.
Today's the day after that Sunday. I'm waiting for the sixth week after beating EarthBound Zero to play MOTHER 3. I'm getting to the end of Zelda II and plan to edit (or start editing) the second episode of my machinima, Asui Gaiden. I hope that everything goes well with this series and that I can enjoy the final game. I suppose these past six weeks can be somewhat of a metaphor for the huge gap between releases in the actual series, plus the extra two years for us Americans (and anyone who speaks English, for that matter).
I know Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon came out a week prior to today and that Pokémon: Platinum Version will be released next month. I'd normally take Fire Emblem's release as a cue for me to play that series and Platinum's release as a cue for me to appendage that to my playing of that series. Hopefully, I can play MOTHER 3 fast enough without speeding through it and lacking enjoyment.
