My Nintendo Material From Another State

I spent most of yesterday evening and today driving to my grandparents' house in Utah, since I have spring break this coming week AND my mom ran a half marathon this morning (in Utah). ^_^ Regardless of being in Utah, I wanted to take care of a few things in the world of Nintendo. First, obtaining Regigigas, and second, starting a new series. I decided to save these until we were in Utah because I thought it would be pretty cool to have my copy of this game and my Regigigas from another state. (I'm just weird like that.)

The Regigigas I'm referencing is the special Regigigas for which they have had the event for the past two weeks. It comes already at level 100 and can be used in Pokemon: Platinum Version in order to obtain Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. I already have all of them, but, whatever. :P

I found out at the store (only because Ohhshnap37, my brother, mentioned it) that Platinum is coming out tomorrow. I probably won't play it until I'm though with Fire Emblem, though. At the same outing in which Shnap and I obtained our Regigigas-es?-, I also bought Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.

It has been pretty fun so far. I've only played one other Fire Emblem game in the past. I played it with normal controls, even though it was on the Wii. (I'm pretty sure you have to, though I don't remember too well.) Shadow Dragon lets you use the stylus, so I decided to do that. You have to be a little careful with how many times you tap something and whether you're tapping or dragging it. I only managed to get a character to do something I didn't want him to do once and it didn't make very much difference at all. I have also noticed the graphics (though they might be slightly overshadowed by the stylus). Radiant Dawn was in 3d, while Shadow Dragon is in 2d just like the screenshots I've seen for all the Fire Emblem games I haven't played.

Next is Fire Emblem

In respect to the release of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon in the U.S. (the us ;D), Fire Emblem will be the next series I tackle in my very long exploit to complete the twelve series that contribute to the world of Super Smash Bros. Here are the five games:

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
Fire Emblem
(GBA)
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
(This is the one that I have already beaten, as indicated in the sidebar. I might replay it, as I did with Metroid Prime 3 in that series.)

I Beat MOTHER 3

I'm not giving away any of the ending details here, so don't worry if you have yet to play the game. It was a really amazing ending, not only in what happens but also in the way its portrayed. I'll just say that the screen that says "End" is very interesting. ;)

MOTHER 3 save files... HOLY CRAP!!

This has just been a complete roller-coaster of emotions. Last night, I was trying to get EarthBound Zero onto my flash cart with MOTHER 3 (no problem) WITH the save file (can't do it). I really want to have my save file for that game on there, but I can still go perfectly fine without. What I absolutely CAN'T go without is my MOTHER 3 save file, now in Chapter 7, the penultimate chapter. That's where the real problem came in. I don't know what happened. I know where I might have done the wrong thing. Whatever happened, my MOTHER 3 save file was gone.

It felt almost as if someone had died. I was despairing all night and later had trouble getting to sleep. I posted a topic on Starmen.net forums that night (last night) asking where I could find a .sav file to upload to my flash cart. My main comment that night was, "I'm so stupid!" Eventually, I did get to sleep.

This morning, as I got out of bed and ate breakfast, I didn't feel as bad. It would only take a week to a week and a half to catch up. Next to that, I somehow knew that somebody on the forums knew how to help me. After I finished eating, I hurried downstairs.

Lo and behold, Tomato, the person who made the MOTHER 3 Fan Translation, told me exactly what to do. It was the Froggie Save Library on their MOTHER 3 forum. It has save files even between the smalles incriments in the game, so you could get a save file from there no matter what part of the game you want! If anyone wants the link, here it is:

I feel so happy now. I have my save file back EXACTLY where I last saved! The characters don't have all the exact same levels and items as before, but it's as close as I'm ever going to get and it's pretty dang good. The levels and items might even be better. I know that Duster has an item from a sidequest in Chapter 5 that I never did, but that's perfectly okay. It only helps. ;)

The Next Episode

On my YouTube channel, as well as the channels of many machinimators, there is a section of the sidebar that I update about my progress in the next episode of my machinima. For Brawl machinimas, this typically consists of scripting, voicing, filming, and editing. Mine usually has voicing after filming and "acting" right before filming. This is actually part of the filming process, but it's before I actually start recording any video. It's pretty much just saving the replays in the game. I decided to split it like this a while ago because it's such a big portion.

I wrote the script for Asui Gaiden: Episode Three this morning. After finishing it, I went on my channel and, while putting the X in the box for the script, I ALSO added a section called acting - with not quotes. This is because of what happens in the episode, which I can't have filmed in Brawl. I could actually call it filming, I suppose. There aren't any quotation marks to differentiate, though.

I'm making progress in MOTHER 3. I'm at the part where the main character is a monkey called Salsa. :)
